What kind are u using overseas?
    We use FM3-0691-000.
Over here in the states we are told to not repair them, but to replace them. $1200 dealers cost.

FM3-0691-000, Thats just the belts on a frame without the ih-heater, displacement motors, right? We got those in 2007 and 2008, but now we cannot order them anymore. No stock in Europe, to bad.

Have you tried to repair them, I dont think they can be stripped right down as there's no parts available anyway. Ive worked on belt fusers before, Toshiba ones and have never seen such a complicated fuser as this canon one.

In the Uk we use FM3-0962-000 and we get the fixing assy without the heater and motor block.

Can u tell me where u order those? I wish we could get our hands on them. Scrapping the heater and displacement motors is such a waste.

After getting the 0007-0001 code, I went through the procedure of re-aligning both the belts. Unit fired right up and rent into ready state. 2 copies later the code was back.

              Ideas?

Carefully inspect the Fixing and Pressure Control Motor Gears for Damage
u probably have a missing or broken tooth on one of the drive parts-Fixing Belt Control Motor Gears/Pressure Belt Control Motor Gears

                iR5180 Fuser gear 20t.JPGspring.JPG

check that spring position in pic above
It is recommended that the most recent System Software be installed on the engine to ensure that all Fixing Assembly performance software countermeasures are implemented.

                that alignment rarely works

Upper segmented gear appears to be cracked, could this be causing it all?

                  The other gears/springs look fine.

I ordered all 3 gears. In order to meet the min. order amount I had to order several so if anybody needs a set... I have them.
