    Help Setup IR2200

    Hello
I'm trying to setup IR2200 as a printer in our office. It doesnt have network card, but has standard printer port. I'm using windows 2000 server with PCL5/6 drivers installed. When I'm trying to print printer makes initial noise "data" indicator flashes, but nothing happens. I have checked all settings, logs do not register printer job no error nothing. Please help

When you set up this printer, use the PCL5 driver. The PCL6 has been known to cause problems. Are you setting this up as a Network Share? Or are you using a network print adaptor or print server?

    Let us know.

Thank you your reply. I have tried PCL5 driver with the same result. Printer currently connected directly to the printer port on the server. I tried different printer port setting Standatd->ECP etc. without any success, I even tried to use USB to printer cable, results are the same. In system monitor it says it's receiving print under IPX

Are you using Netware? Also, being connected directly to the server, do you have the print driver loaded on each individual host?

I'm not exactly sure what network rx is, but I forgot to ask you an obvious question. Is this machine a printer or copier. You can check that by going into level 1 service mode and checking the bootrom version. If the version is followed by a C, your machine is a copier and it won't print. If it's followed by an N, it's a printer and we can go on.

Thank you I will check it up tomorrow, I presume it's a printer as there are some print job logs there from 2004. Is it possible that bootrom has been changed to copier only?

Copy jobs show up in the print job log also. I'm thinking it's a copier because the printer kit comes with a NIC. The 2200N model also comes with a NIC.
