for the dual-line fax board, make sure the wire harness from the fax board to the main controller pcb is connected to j1005.

check that the yellow wiring harness is the correct one. Check that all pins on both sides of the harness are terminated. You must use the harness supplied with this fax option.

Like i said before/ not all LINE 2's have a dial tone

        All Fax Capable imageRUNNER Models
Entering a Default Line for Use with a Dual Line Kit.

Please be aware that this information refers to all imageRUNNER Models with the exception of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE

When you have an imageRUNNER device with a Dual Line Fax Board, you may need to change the default TX Line priority from Line 1 to Line 2. You may also choose to prohibit transmissions on one of the lines. The selections are for Line 1 and Line 2 "TX Priority" or "TX Prohibit".

Here is what you will see on the LCD as you make these selections.

All Fax Capable imageRUNNER Models Selecting a Line to use when a Dual Line Fax Kit is Installed

Please be aware that this information refers to all imageRUNNER Models with the exception of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE

This applies to imageRUNNER devices that support a Dual Line Fax Kit. First, select the "Send Screen" and select "Send settings".

Now select the "Line Selection" tab

          Here you will see 3 options. They are;

          1) Line 1 is the standard line.
          2) Line 2 is the Additional line.
          3) Auto will select the line as outlined under the "Fax Settings" tab from the "Additional Functions" menu.

ok, lets begin with the basics... first at all make sure, that the two analog lines are working correctly by attaching a phone to it. (i have an old headset from a canon fax 170 with me, comes very handy to check lines ) , if that is done and all works fine, connect the fax module with only a 2 wire cable to the jack, to make sure, that no failure in the jack connections is the reason for malfunctioning. What happens?

When you have an imageRUNNER device with a Dual Line Fax Board, you may need to change the default TX Line priority from Line 1 to Line 2. You may also choose to prohibit transmissions on one of the lines. The selections are for Line 1 and Line 2 "TX Priority" or "TX Prohibit".

In addition to setting these default values, you may also select a line priority in the "Send Settings" screen under the "Send" tab of the LCD.
                              no.
there is no display the line options under communication settings.

if u do not see the Dual Line Options

then u better check that your Fax Modem cable connection is in correct spot

For the Dual-Line Fax Board, make sure the wire harness from the fax board to the Main Controller PCB is connected to J1005.

make sure it is not in
