    Original detect issue, IR5570

I had 2 of these refurbed for resale, HDD, RAM clear, new meter PCB... Now detecting originals on the glass always selects the larger paper size(11x8.5 reads 11x17, 8.5x11 reads 8.5x14). I'm guessing it has something to do with the settings, I reinput the values from the chat inside the front cover(didn't help). Any ideas? Also, is there a way to just disable the auto original detect? Always easy to find on other brand copier, but I can't locate it on the Canons...I wasn't the one who refurbed them, and our in-house Canon tech doesn't know.. Thanks in advance!

Check in level 2 Service Mode > Copier > Option > Body > SENS-CNF ----------If it is set to 0 change it to 1 and restart copier.

If you want to take the copier out of auto detect paper size--------select a default paper drawer on the display ------then go to user settings by hitting * and lock that setting in by storing the default copier settings

Probably part of the refurb. It's my understanding that Canon under certain circumstances will let you put a new counter if the unit is reconditioned according to their requirements. Don't know much about that program now but in the 1990's the Canon dealer I worked for (Remco Business Products-which later was bought out by alco standard which became Ikon) refurbed a lot of units and resold them with a zero meter with Canon's approval.

Yes, we have a checklist that we go by on what to replace and such. Under contract to refurb them, so the list comes from that company.

I would be interested to know what Canon requires you do to refurb those units. Can you post the list of what is required of you?
