Some things to consider. Replace toner cartridge drive assembly (FM2-5363-000) for yellow if toner is not being supplied. Your code is a toner density ratio off. You might have ATR sensor related issues. Or the drive for the drum has failed. Make sure the drum drive is working. Look at the patch on the ITB assy, is it good? There will be other good ideas other people will post, so start the trouble shooting process, and let us know how things go
Yes, I am here to fix your machine. No, your machine went out of warranty 18 years ago.

Looks like a laser issue-just had the exact same copy sample with magenta. the laser units are interchangeable.

Your right. I went off the code only. My bad.with the crackberry I use, the sample images either don't load, or takes forever. I will have to skip posting if samples are shown and I can't view.

I should say laser unit, had one faulty M laser. Couldn;t initialize a new drum because of the problem. Also had such a thing with faulty HVT on C. Background because prim.charger didn;t have enough volts anymore.

Also once a machine had faulty dccon(img)/mcon. replaced both because i suspected the interface between them.

I would look at the HVT pcb

HVT Box 1 (PN: FM2-6323-000) controls magenta and yellow.
HVT Box 2 (PN: FM2-6324-000) controls black and cyan.

SCREWTAPE , may be on to something- just checked my notes/ had two 5180'S with HVT issues display your symptom-
              also check below>

Swap Laser Y with another/ if problem remains/ u may need to replace DC CONTROLLER

U can clear DC CON- but make sure u have a copy of the P PRINT to put back the DC settings

Why did ya replace dcon2? Thats Maisy right? That one controls engines and accesoires. dccon 1 (IMG) controls images.
