    Take it out, and clean

    Or
there is a way to check the 3 LED sensors on the image patch sensor,

Enter service mode Level 1, go to <DISPLAY>DENS> , go to second screen and it will display <PCH-LED-1>(front), <PCH-LED-2>(center), <PCH-LED-3>(rear). If any read zero, replace the image patch sensor (FM2-2494-000).

Also, when was last Drum change_? & Dev change_?

Error code E006 indicates a problem at the fixing unit connection with the front cover closed.

The screw that secures the arm release FL2-2796-000 can loosen causing poor engagement of the fixing/feeder assembly. Make certain that the screw is tight and that the arm release is not deformed.

I know this is an old thread but I'm having the same problem right now, wondering if your problem got fixed and how?

I had loads of E020 errors on these machines. After numerous visits it was the patch connection from the drum unit into the connections on the main frame. Apparently they stretch and lose voltage. Try replacing the loom if all else fails !

Thank you both very much for your prompt replies. Coincidentally, have two Canon engineers here right now and I was a bit nervous about mentioning that I'd been interfering by looking online (some people are a bit funny about it). But both very grateful. One had just said exactly what you suggested before i pipped up...

    Thanks again.

'Will see if this resolves issue and report back.

E0020-0188 can be caused by poor connection between Patch sensor and side driver PCB

Replace "D KIT HARNESS ASSEMBLY" Part number FM2-2615

Can do one print and then need shut down.
    Baffled.

I'm without a printer off and on now since december so tearing hair out.

I'm not a tech, so please Be Kind.

have them replace the Side Driver PCB-FM2-7730-000

if they are guessing on this code, they belong working in a garage !!!!

    u probably need a drum / dev.change- dirty sensor

Call for a CANON TRAINED TECH.

If that canon tech is guessing or does not know then he must not be trained. Every canon tech would know that E20's are developer or hopper E-codes. This error has to do with yellow.
Maybe its time for a developer change.
