    iR5070 - load paper

Message says 'load paper' on the #2 (stack) cassette, even though there is paper. Apparently, the sensors are behind rear vertical plate. Am I going the right direction?

Check for paper in behind the tray-also try cleaning the sensors behind the tray, sometimes if they get dusty.

No, display message is ' load paper' with paper in. I'm told it's something with white lever@ feed area...

Power unit off/on, see if the paper tray now lifts...

Make sure the white plastic pieces on the deck itself are okay. I've seen these machines have loose rail mounting screws(on machine) cause this intermittently. If the lifter did time out you will have to reboot the machine as stated

Glad you are up and running Dexor, I have seen this with the entire 5000 frame family, where the machine can get stupid, sometimes for no apparent reason, and cycling power now raises the drawer... go figure!

if the lifter motor runs too long it times out and has to be rebooted. All Canon decks have this protection so that the lifter motor doesnt burn out

                    Hey Canuck
reboot didn't work. Like I said before, I took the unit out, cleaned sensors and - lubed some possible problem areas - metal to metal contacts, bushings etc... manually moving those things had a bit of a resistance, and it can at times possibly stall motor as you explained above.
Boy I hate to learn all those possible tricks and then die with all that awesome knowledge - somehow, I don't feel bad throwing all machinery into burning sulphur - one day...

Still something to keep in mind what canuck said. Tray will "lock out" if it runs too long and won't come back until you reboot.
