    Canon IRC 2880

Have a 2880 with internal finisher. Will not feed paper in normal paper type mode. Jam code 010b. Change the mode to heavy paper and it feeds letter size ok but will put waves on 1/3 of the trailing edge of paper. Everything in 3 way assy. seems fine. When legal paper is exiting through finisher, last 1/3 makes a crunching noise. Sight check on finisher and can't see anything out of the ordinary.
    Any suggestions?
Dont have much exp. on color equip and could use some pointers.
    Thanks in advance.

make sure the paper trays are set up for correct paper types/& sizes

the paper is being curled and may have a ripple effect to it.
Check if the Fixing Guide Hinge Plate is not bent out of alignment and not meshing with the Fixing Drive Gear.
The Part Number for the Fixing Guide Hinge Plate is FL2-4393-000.

I have had to replace the hinge plate for the wave more than once. It looks fine, but has some drag. I had to rpl fixing belts (rare). The 010b, I have seen: paper still in the finisher.deflector stuck in molts.deflector cracked where solinoid pulls, same deflector (in 2/3 delivery unit) wedged so it won't move. How is the buckle? This can cause issues too?
Yes, I am here to fix your machine. No, your machine went out of warranty 18 years ago.

Thanks for the tips. Which hinge plate? Waves run length wise on bottom 1/3 of legal paper. Almost like the paper is being driven faster out of the fuser than the finsher is running causing the waves.
