    E202 on IR6570

Just delivered ir6570 and 3days later they have E202-0002. Tech cleared it, but I'm curious what might be about to happen, would like to be prepared if they call again.

    E202-0002

An error has occurred when the sensor was moved from home position.
The scanner HP sensor is faulty; the scanner motor is faulty; the reader controller PCB is faulty.

Do you by any chance have the part # for the home position sensor? I believe the motor is FK2-0635 and reader controller is FM2-3623. In your experience, will it most likely be one certain item over the rest?

          E202-xxxx
In this case, the center rail guide mount in the feeder was cracked resulting in the error code. Replacing the rail guide mount, part number FC7-0257-000 resolved the issue.

            E202-0001-0002

This error can be caused by a faulty Interface PCB. Replace the Interface PCB item 26 part number FM2-3624-000.

Scanner need to be locked down /or secured in HP when moving a machine.
Things become loose on a move

U said Tech cleared error/ what did they report back on findings ??

              Reminder>
If scanner does not move when powered up >

Check if the ribbon connector J202 is seated properly on the reader controller.

the sub code is also helpful in future

u can never be fully prepared

Tech just went in and cleared the error and ran a bunch of copies......code didn't come back. The code was E202-0002.

Is this the single duplex scanner? Moving the scanner glass to home position is the first thing this scanner does at startup. If it cannot because for example a missing voltage, this E202 is mostly the first error that pops up.

Those that i encountered with E202 had a blown fuse, but those didn't recover before i replaced the fuse or board.

Ok we have narrowed down that this code is coming up when she is scanning alot of documents. If she only does 2 or 3 it is fine, but when doing mass scanning, the E202-0002 appears. We have lubed the scanner. The sensor shouldn't be sporadic like that. So would you guess the motor or board?

as screwtape suggested before it is probably the interface PCB FM2-3624-000. This is a known issue with this model.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

You say you lubed the scanner . does that mean you cleaned the rails and re oiled them? Cause thats what I would do..

In the case of a single duplex scanner, the sub code is 0101;i just came across it a month ago;replacing the 60v/400ma blown fuse fixed the problem but i wonder what has caused the fuse to blow??So, i ordered a DF-rcon pcb just in case this error happens again!
