    Canon Imageclass D860 ADF

Hi, I need to replace the Sep roller, feed roller and pad in the ADF in the D860 and have never done it before. Is it a simple job or is it real involved. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank You

Everything is real involved if you dont know what are you doing. You must be a trained tech
    and you need manual.
In your example you have no chance to replace rollers without manuals.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

I am a trained tech but not on Canon equipment. I didn't want to have any surprises when I went to replace the parts. Is it really that difficult? If I do need a manual, where could I find one? Thanks

I am trained on this product, if you consider video/online training as the only method offered. I just rebuilt the DADF on an iR1670, the same model 2 days ago. It is fairly involved. You have to drop the feed unit down out of the DADF cover to service it. Pull the white platen cover's black tape off the feeder assembly. 4 screws hold the assembly in the feeder frame. When it is on the glass, it is a little easier to work with, but not much. To avoid the hassle of rebuilding, you could replace the feed unit as a whole. many of the guys at my dealership take that route. I did it time before last,, after doing a rebuild, and not having it work properly after spending all that time,, I ordered/replaced the entire unit and resolved the issue...

I have the enhanced copy of the Parts & Service manual for this beast. If interested, email me.

Its not bad after you've done it 40 or 50 times. Like Mrfixit said, its best to drop the assembly and disconnect all the wiring and then it just becomes that fun disassembly we all wake up for.

Well, I went and rebuilt it today and it wasn't that bad. I dropped the assembly and disconnected the sensor harness like suggested and it was fine. A little hard working on the feed roller assembly because of lack of room. I actually had two to work on so I had a reference if I did screw up. So now I have 2 under my belt. Thanks again for all the tips.
