    If -E061 or E100 is experienced

    imageRUNNER 5070 / 5570 / 6570

    The Laser Shutter is activated by the pin on the Primary Fan Duct Assembly.

    The pin actuates the shutter through the opening in the Machine Front Plate

    If an error code of E061 or E100 is experienced, check the shutter operation and the pin on the Primary Fan Duct Assembly.
    If the pin is broken, it should be replaced. The pin can be replaced by replacing the Primary Fan 2 Duct.

    Duct, Primary Fan 2 FC6-3540-000.

        When you open a specific drawer/cassette, you will see a knob/switch on the front left corner or right corner of the drawer. The knob/switch determines which size paper is configured for that cassette. On that knob you will see all of the paper sizes that the specific drawer can hold. You can twist this knob to the specified paper size. This selection will now appear on the LCD. To verify the Paper Selection:
        1. Press the Copy button.
        2. Press Paper Select.
        3. Now you will see what paper size each cassette is set for.

        Cassette knob.jpg

        **There is also a plastic slide indicator near knob side that u move up or down for LTR/A4

        For non user adjustable paper drawers, the Paper Size needs to be changed in Service Mode.
        To enter Service Mode, press Additional Functions, the 2 and the 8 keys simultaneously, and then the Additional Functions key one more time.
        Once in Service Mode, to change the Paper Size:
        1) Select Copier.
        2) Select Option (from the toolbar across the top).
        3) Select CST.
        4) Scroll until the LCD displays p-sz-cx (Where x is the cassette number).
        5) Select the Cassette that you wish to change the size on and enter the number that corresponds to the paper size you wish to use.
        6) Select OK.
        7) Press Reset to exit Service Mode.
        Paper Sizes and their corresponding numbers for Service Mode:
        4 = A3
        5 = A4r
        6 = A4
        8 = A5r
        13 = B4
        14 = B5r
        15 = B5
        16 = 11 x 17
        17 = LTRr
        18 = LTR
        20 = STMTr
        21 = LGL
        22 = U1
        24 = U2
        25 = U3

          Since tray 1 and 2 are paperdecks on this machine, aren't those setup in service mode?

            The drawers he has a picture of are not for the 5570. I have not changed the paper size from ltr to A4 in 1 or 2, but the service manual has the process - which includes having to physically move the guides (as in needing a screw stick). Having to mess with LTR size that skewed AND "my drawers covers do not line up", I wish you luck messing with those blank blank guides (ok covers aren't bad, just hard for me to get the same).

              orry for the tray mix-up-/ here is correct answer>>>

              Identifying the Size of Paper (right/left deck)
              The right/left deck does not possess a mechanism to detect the size of paper, and the machine finds out the size
              of paper as follows:(A4, B5, LTR)

              [1] The position of the paper size guide plate of the cassette is changed.
              [2] A paper size is registered in service mode.

              SERVICE MODE:
              COPIER> OPTION> CST> P-SZ-C1
              Use it to specify a paper size for the right deck.
              Settings:
              6: A4, 15: B5, 18: LTR

              COPIER> OPTION> CST> P-SZ-C2
              Use it to specify a power size for the left deck.
              Settings
              6: A4, 15: B5, 18: LTR

                  1. Remove the primary fan duct assembly (this assembly has a pin on it that activates the laser shutter)
                  2. Remove and re-install the laser assembly.
                  3. Install the primary fan duct assembly. (The linkage may be pinched not allowing the laser shutter to be fully actuated on the initial replacement)

                      Usually its the tab that the mount screw passes thru that breaks off rather than the pin itself. The duct does not sit flush at the left end so the laser shutter does not open fully. I usually melt a paper clip(make a hoop) to repair them. Or you just have to replace the rear plate of the primary duct, not the entire assembly

                        The code was E0001, I should have guessed customer would get it wrong!
                        I reset the code, machine works but the rear of the page isn't fused, print rubs of easily, rest of the page is ok, weird!?

                          Your fuser has a broken upper bushing, or a worn out lower bearing
