    ir2870 - print kit install

    ir2870 - print kit
Have installed a print kit for a ir2870 and it will not see the network at all. Does the system software have to be a certain version? Have the right IP address, tried pinging the gateway - nothing. Did a P-Print and it sees the N-Bootrom. What am I missing?

    Thanks

Yes it is set to "0". Does this have to have the Universal Send Kit - B1 to turn on the nic card? Never had to install a print kit in one of these, always came with it.

        Checking the Installation

Make the following selections, and check the state of the following bits: COPIER > ACC-STS > PDL-FNC1.

111x xxxx xxxx xxxx (0: OFF; 1: ON)

In the case of the PDL-FNC1, bits 31 through bits 16 are indicated. Be sure that the following bits are '1': 31, 30, 29.

            According to the P-Print, COPIER > ACC-STS > PDL-FNC1 is set to 1111 0000 0010 0000.

Do I need to try a MMI clear?

Have you tried to ping it via laptop and crossover cable, thus eliminating the customers network from your diagnostic process? Was this ever hooked up previously to the network, to say, manage the copier/fax operation thru RUI? The Ethernet port on the main controller might simply be fubar.

I purchased it on line, but I also took one from a working copier, same results. But the kit works in the other copier.

No, the green light does not come on the copier.

I would try pinging the copier with a crossover cable. If those two talk then you have a cable issue somewhere in the customers network. If they do not talk then you have a main controller issue. Unfortunatly the NIC is built into the main controller on all these newer models.
