U need to follow a procedure when u have copier machine faults/
and not take a Band-Aid procedure {of keep replacing parts until something works]
It's called a process of elimination- keep a record of each step, so u don't repeat one.
**It's the only way to learn -"How to Troubleshoot an Issue"
    - especially when u are out there with no one to turn to.

I hope u did not try to format this models HDD ??
If u are not trained on this model, u need to call or find a Canon trained tech on this model.
Check in Level 2 Service Mode for this setting - should be at 1
    Copier > Option > Body > SENS-CNF >1

Perform the following, to access Printer Settings.
    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS>PRINTER SETTINGS>SETTINGS>INITIALIZE
    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS>PRINTER SETTINGS>UTILITIES>RESET PRINTER

The HDD on this series should not be formatted, unless a HDD Data Encryption Kit-B5 is being installed in the machine. The installation instructions for the Encryption Kit do tell you to format the HDD.
The instruction are correct; and it is ok to format the HDD,
****only during the installation of the HDD Data Encryption Kit-B5.
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

Hi rajmer, teckat has just given you another good lead, try that and please keep posting for us a feed back on this forum, it's an interesting fault which seems to have no clear solution as of now. There's transfer, loss and/or storage of energy (signals) somewhere in a compartment of the system. We shall all be happy to learn how and where this energy is getting lost.

check reg roll ground clip. Also E315 has nothing to do with fax. It is an image processing error. Reseat boards and connectors on main and dc controllers.Solved these on older models by deleting partition on HDD and re-flashing machine.

Well, we are happy to learn that our input has helped you fix the problem. You may now send the main controller pcb to a specialized repair shop to be repaired. Thanks for the feedback.

You could have had a poor connection going into the board - did u remove all connections and then re-seat them ????

With over 25yrs in the field, I could count the number of MAIN Controllers I replaced on one hand.
                      hope it works out !!!!!!!!!
