Irc 3202 swapped c-1 fiery with a 3200 now can't get the fiery to start up

If I fire up the copier, and the fiery, everything loads fine. WHen I go to get into my print screen preferences its stuck at "check power chords located behind...." I am wondering what setting was reset and what do I do to get it back? I can't get to the set up to print my network settings I am sure through service mode I can I am new to canon so pardon the limited experience... thanks for any help in advance...

    what is a IRC 3202 ????? do u mean a iR3220
do you mean > u swapped Fiery's from one printer to another ??
or u just pulled off a Fiery to attach on another printer ??

because u just can't put a Fiery on a 3200 printer , unless it had one on before/
if it did not have the Fiery-there needs to be an IF Board installed/ also the Fiery uses a C Boot Rom.

please provide exact information of what u are trying to accomplish

sorry I also work on offset presses there is a ryobi 3202 I work on quite often... get them mixed up obviously.. its a 3220 and a 3200 I am working with. Both had identical fierys... the 3220 was not starting up just as both are doing now but at the time the 3200 fired up fine. So I moved the fiery unti to the 3220 from the 3200 and it worked fine. I run mac so it networks easily through appletalk. Now I attempted to replace the original fiery back onto the 3200 and it gives the same message and won't start up past the screen saying "check power chords ...blah blah... I assume the machines being different models used different firmware maybe and probably need to reset something in the service screen just not sure what at this point. CUstomer is getting quite anxious but I had explained I am not trained in networking but I would try it.. classic error..any help would help

when u remove fierys/ machines need to be powered off/then power off fiery

keep fiery switch off/ then power up printer/wait until progress bar is half way/then turn on fiery power switch

        go in service mode

        1. In service mode go to- Copier/Option/Int-Face/Img-Cont: Set Img-Cont to = 3
NOTE: (Set to 3 and press OK again even if it is already at 3).
        2. Turn the machine off then on again
        3. Turn the power of the imagePASS C1 off then on again.

(Check the display under printer option to make sure the imagePASS C1 comes to an idle state).

make sure all the cables are sitting correct
if u have a Fiery C1 check the LED's below

I have the same problem with IR c3200 copier and c1 imagepass. In the printer mode it stucks up with "check the power chord behind or check the cables blah blah blah". I'm wondering why because the fiery is working well.I heard the hard disk is working, the UFR board is blinking..Im a new guy also and not familiar with canon printers.I also notice that after turning on the fiery all leds are blinking in sequence and after that it stuck up with none of them are blinking.I also came with the settings "starting printer diagnostics (yes or no) then the screen shows up "Diagnose, installation, Version etc" Im not in front of the machine so I cannot recall all of that. I think the problem is the system software. Is there anyway of restoring that files? Or how and where can get that files? I dont have any CD's..PLEASE HElP!!!

all LED's off at end of boot up is normal/ see above pic

check the power chord, is and has been an issue on the 3200 w/imagePass C1
when customers or techs don't follow the shutdown procedure for the Fiery first-then the Printer-
the next time u start up the Printer , u receive that message.
Under Printer tab u will see a box for shutdown on Fiery- follow procedure, then flip power switch on Fiery- Then do the shut down procedure for 3200 printer.

Many techs & customers just reach over and flip off both switches- that's a no no.
If the Fiery is in the process of receiving a job or there is a corrupt file in there , u will have this hang up issue.

This procedure is for the Fiery that has a Power Switch
If u know how to enter service mode-
                Try this-
                1.Power off everything
2.unplug Fiery, and all it's cables
                3.power up 3200
                4.go in service mode to
                5.COPIER>OPTION<INT-FACE>IMG-CONT
6.set IMG-CONT to 0, hit OK, and close out/end service mode
7.Follow shut down procedure on control panel
                8.power up 3200,get back to COPIER>OPTION<INT-FACE>IMG-CONT
RE-set IMG-CONT to "3", hit OK, get out/ of service mode, power off 3200.
9.Connect all Fiery Cables & it's power cord.
                10. Power up 3200, wait for progress bar to go 3/4 across, THEN Flip on C1 Power switch.
                11. Wait, it should eventually all come ready
                12. Go under Printer Tab and do a Clear Server.

You need to enter service mode to change COPIER>OPTION<INT-FACE>IMG-CONT

Remember - u put it from 3 to 0/ then back to 3
*******Just follow My instructions first, let's see what happens***********

                    SERVICE MODE=
1.U hit additional functions button/key on control panel, then release
                    2.U Press #2 & 8 key at the same time/then release
3.U then hit additional function key again & release

Now u are in service mode. SEE BELOW>>>

                      Update on my issue***

IT wasn't the system software at all. Well lets say it didn't need reinstalling anyway. I did the sequence given by Teckat (thanks sir) and powered down, disconnected, 3200 power up, service mode, change value (x) to 0 power down, repower up service mode, change value (y) back to 3, power down, reconnect fierey checkd and double checked all pwoer chords then power up the sytem together and it went right on. I am not 100% it wasn't a simple loose chord as it felt like the ethernet chord between the fiery server and the machine was a loose connection by default on this particular machine but I can't really conclude either way I didn't want to mess with the success I had so I left it alone lol. I have since run into other codes due to drum and toner errors because of drums. These machines won't go over the 40k they are rated at and seemed like one or 2 didn't barely make it the full 40k. At nearly $300 a piece I would expect more to be honest as would my customers so I can't say I would recommend this model or models c3200 or c3220 as being sturdy office machines. I am new to canon and know these are older models so I will wait before concluding anything more from this litle lesson. Thanks guys for all the help.. you are an asset with uncalcutable worth to guys like myself trying to stretch the tech training I have as far as I can without having to actually attend more classes and bowing down to corporate monsters to get into those classes in the first place..lol...

Yes sir.. I was done with that part before. Changing any no. to 0..then reboot change it to 3 then reboot..I actually do that many times, the only difference is the time I Switch on the fiery and the machine. I will try your sequence of procedure and then after that I'll just give you an update..Tnx for helping sir..And one thing more, how can I get out of the Svc MOde properly? I just turn off the machine after hitting ok..Is that alright sir?

                            Thanks ,ELVIS.jpg
U need to remember that Canon's Toner/Drum usage pct% is based on a 6 to 8 % coverage of text on Plain Letter paper. When u get into those full color projects of 10/15/20 pct. usage, that's what takes a toll on Drums
see attachment for what Canon determines 6%
