    [CQ] Ir 7105

    Hi All,

Went to an ir7105 that has had ongoing Cq grey background but Image is spot on.

Laser/Corona assy/ Dev unit has been replaced.

Its Done 5 Million . I suspect Drum has had it!

    Any other ideas?

    Regards

Do you try to polish the drum with powder. Also check dust proof glass.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

is the customer using canon toner?

pre exposure lamps could be causing an issue as well. check for loose connections.

I agree with polishing the drum as part of the normal maintenance of the copier, but dust proof glass is not the issue here, since "light writes" on this model, any crud on the dust proof glass will cause either intrack voids or light copy...

Have you tried the new drum yet
                  5m is alittle high
I did have one a few mths ago with the same issue
I changed the HVT PCB (After changing everything else - Wires, Deve, Drum, A.P. Kit)
The customer was using gen canon toner, so know that wasn't the issue

                  Good Luck

We just had one at a corporate print shop go 15.8 million before the surface wouldn't clean off properly anymore. The difference between the 7105 and the 105 amaze me!!! The two other machines in the same room both have over 14 million on their drums as well and CQ is still holding great.
