[Misc] Canon D780 Getting to the fuser unit.

Can someone give me directions (or point me where) To remove the fuser unit? I looks like the scanner has to be removed... Is that correct? Have hammer at ready. thanks Anthony

Yes,you need to remove scanner.First you need to remove control panel.

2.Remove reader unit

Thanks zoraldinho, That is such a clever design they came up with, WTF. Anyway I finished the machine tonight and it is working minus a few plastic snap tabs. Thanks again for your help.

Next time take off the covers on the left, get a ratchet right angle screw driver and remove from the left side without taking the scanner or any cables off. 3 screws and 3 connectors. I get that out in 5 minutes.

This is not a canon procedure.It's your way.Sometimes can be better den canons,sometimes
you can have a lot of broken plastic covers.

4 screws remove cover over power supply and cover over parallel port. Loosen screw for upper cover and it drops down. Disconnect 3 fuser connectors. Remove 3 screws holding fuser in and slide fuser out. Its a whole lot safer than removing scanner with the flat cable which can take what, an hour?
