2 problems. First the customer doesn't have the tab option thru the computer. I wonder if I need a different driver. Second when they run the tab paper as a copy job, the print on the tab comes washed out. I saw a post on the knowledgebase about the lower transfer guide plate and adjusted accordingly evn varied the position. Played with some sep and trans spec to see if I could improve it. As of now it's not real bad but I get an occasional washed out image on the tab and too many of them have a bleeding look to them. Tab paper seems to be traveling thru the sep area ok. The image looks like the tab, which is on the trail edge, is riding up the drum. I replaced the lower fuser roller and bearings for obvious reasons and thought this might help the entry into the fuser since it looks like the tab is over the transfer area as the lead egde enters the fuser. 32 years and never had anybody run tab paper(that I know of). If anybody has a little experience with this it would be great.

When running tabs through the machine, the print on the tab is washed out.
If the print on the tab is washed out, when running tab paper, change the setting of fuzzy in service mode to three. To change the value of Fuzzy, perform the following.
Service Mode > Copier > Option > Fuzzy.
The default for fuzzy is 0, but in this case, set fuzzy to 3
SERVICE MODE:
COPIER>OPTION>BODY>FUZZY (turning on/off fuzzy control)
0: enable fuzzy control (default)
1: low humidity mode (for pre-transfer charging current level lower than standard)
2: normal humidity mode
3: high humidity mode (for pre-transfer charging current higher than standard)
When set to '1' through '3', the machine executes the appropriate modes independently of the reading of the environment sensor.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

I spoke too soon. Customer has pre printed tab paper. They say they cant run it as a blank sheet insertion when they set tray 3 or 4 to tab paper. It doesnt allow it. I suggested they set the tray to plain paper which they can but it wont feed. Misfeeds every page out of the tab drawer. If they place plain paper in the tab drawer it will feed without a problem. Im gonna see the machine tomorrow and hopefully I can fully understand what the machine will allow them to do and not allow them.Comment

NOTE
• When making copies on tab paper, check that the position of the tabs is correct.

• Tab paper is always copied on. If you do not want to print on the tab paper, insert blank sheets of paper in each place where you want the tab paper to go.
