Canon D1120, department ID and Password Removal
Can anyone help me remove the Department ID and Password?

I just bought a slightly used Canon D1120 unit, when I turn it on, the display goes directly to the department ID and Password input...sadly No body knows the the codes.
Is there a default or universal codes? thanks in advance.

Did you try the method mentioned above? I do not work on the imageclass copiers, I only work on the imagerunner copiers, but they often work the same way.

Hopefully someone else here will have the answer to your problem. As I mentioned, I do not work on these consumer grade products. I work on the business lines only. When I looked at a picture of your device, I could not see the resemblance to any product I service. Your best help may come from a store where these are actually sold, a knowledgeable sales person may have the resources you need to get rid of your log-on screen...

hmmmm, ... knowledgeable salesperson, ... Staples.
Nope. I don't think I ever heard those words used in the same sentence.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I know they are as scarce as Tooth Fairy's, but they must exist somewhere... ;-)

I have a European IRC1028if and I found how to clear the password.

                            Press Main menu
                            Press 2
                            Press 8
Press Main menu, after a 4 seconds you see "Copier"
                            Press Copier
                            Press Function
                            Press Clear
                            Press PWD-clear

Switch off with main switch, switch on
after running Press additional settings button and choose Id System management, now you in !!
To find Function, Clear, PWD-clear scroll down in the menus

I had the same issue at our work and for those of us who don't really understand what each button is called, I found this video very useful:
                              (1) How to Reset Admin Password on Canon Imagerunner ADV Printer - YouTube
The instructions were basically the same as posted here by various technicians but I just couldn't comprehend for the love of my life. Was able to reset the password in the end so very thankful to all of you who have posted the solution numerous times
