Wooden laminate flooring shouldn't be a problem. It's always good to know the electrical outlines when plugging these machines in. It can give you some ease and eliminate headaches. I was in one office once in a home where you would get static shocked quite a bit too frequently. I remember touching a pc and it never working again.

Had an IR 550/600 with a problem once on a carpet. Moved it and it worked better...this was after the primary corona and transfer assembly was replaced. Also had the customer upgrade their breaker to a 20 amp, was using 15 amp breaker which was ok but not recommended. Better power and less static is better with the paper too.

If all else fails, after you change all the charge assemblies, transfer units, etc., maybe get the power board tested especially if manually adjusting the power levels to things such as the wires and lasers just doesn't work or only does a temporary fix. Eventually the power board can fail. Sometimes they can be repaired too.

Try to test and eliminate the easy and cheap things first methodically and logically...because it can get time consuming and expensive replacing all the electrical related stuff.
