i have canon irc 2380i all colour is ok except black even in test. drum is ok it happen when i replace new black toner and it is ok on the magnetic roller.

Check drum lifetime in service mode:

COPIER>DISPLAY>MISC

many thanks you replied----i exchange the black drum with the blue one it give me agood blue copy that means the drum is ok !!!

Did you do an Auto Gradation Adjustment??
Sometimes you have to do it a few times,make sure the laser is clean.Use cleaning tool

what's wrong with black.?What kind of issue do you have?

i did auto gradation adjustment, the drum is ok and still no black copy when i choose to black only, in test print all colour ok but no black

Put the black drum in original position and inspect if you have drum rotation.

I think I had a problem like that with another colour.It was caused by a broken gear on the drum drive.Best way to check is to pull out the process unit and reach in to the back,try turning all the drum drives and if black is broken it will feel different.It is difficult to remove the gear as you have to take off PCB on rear of machine and replace clutch unit.

Check the Black Developer Sleeve Clutch on DEVELOPING DRIVE ASSEMBLY.


Inspect the Developing Drive Assembly, a broken gear may on the Black Developer Sleeve Drive Clutch CL4.
