Check lens home position(sensor) or scaner motor is faulty.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

If I remember well, if you detach the back cover, you can see an upright axle on the upper middle section.
In this axle a solenoid makes a gear sliding up and down. There is only one motor. If a solenoid is off, the motor rotates only the scanner. If it is on, the motor moves the scanner and a lens too. If the metallic axle has dryed grease, it switches too slow. The motor
moves the lens into home position with the scanner, and then would like to move the scanner without the lens to home. But with stucked axle the lens moving too, unfortunately out from home position.

            > Lens home position sensor or DC controller
If the lens does not return to the
            home position (LHP remains 0)
            within 2.5 sec.
If LHP remains 1 for at least 4 sec.
            1. Clean (repleas) sensor.
2.Check all conection on the DC Contr. PCB
