Hopefully one of the more experienced Canon techs here could clarify this, as I am referencing a different model (ir3235 very different, I know.) My problem was the same as you describe (no display but green power light) however I did not cause or was not there when the error occurred. On this model there is 2 pins on the controller board that you can short to reset it. Has fixed 2 machine for me.

Like I said initially, hopefully a real Canon technician can confirm or not. I may very well be leading you up the wrong path here so check into it before you attempt anything.

On iR 32xx models there are really 2 pins on the controller board that you can short to reset it. But after resetting you should fresh the SW version, to avoid the comeback of this freeze.

Otherwise, if the symptom is the same, it worth a try on your color machine

Since the machine was working before u replaced the fixing unit, I would agree with the suggestion that u first re-insert the old fixing unit into the machine, power it and see what happens. if symptom persists then u may proceed with advanced troubleshooting as suggested above by the other techs .

the worst thing is what u did to the power switch/flip on & off a hundred times

do u think that is a magic trick ??
u must have created a short to ground somewhere/ pinched wire

remove one connector at a time from the DC Controller /power off/on & check if the Control Panel display pops up
                  - look in manual to see what connector is causing issue
this is how to trace down a short

                  check your power supplies

AC voltage into the Printer Power Supply, and DC voltage out of the Printer Power Supply

Have you tried putting the old fixing unit back in? Your not giving us much feedback on what you have done that was suggested...

You asked: "what could be the problem?" Obviously the fuser was the problem. It had a short, or was the wrong voltage (120v in a 220v or vice versa). Either way it probably damaged the power supply, or you did switching it off/on a hundred times. Which would explain why the problem still happened after you unplugged the fuser. If the power supply isn't fried then there is a good chance you ruined the HDD switching it off/on like that.

Hi. I didn't get notifiations that there was a reply. Canon tech told me not to bother with that because unit should power on if it's totally unplugged. But I will try since it has been mentioned a few times in this thread.

It is a brand new fuser. I switched on and off million times after I tried unplugging the fuser. And the hard drive doesn't power up which makes me believe the power supply is shot.
What does QTF mean. Ok it appears I am the clown here.
