    IR1610 Check prnter cover message

Gday all, I have an IR1610 in my workshop which came in for a service and a clean.
I removed all covers, drum, fuser and dev and gave the interior a good vacuuming and cleaned all the covers and units.
This machine has been in a farm shed all of its life by the look of it and had a thick coating of dust all through the guts of it.
So now she looks a million bucks but it doesn't work. Machine boots up to ready then shows "check printer cover" message, if I open and shut the front cover the machine recognizes the change and starts to run again, showing ready to copy for a few seconds then shows cover open message again.
I have since retraced my steps and checked all connectors (none of which I removed originally except for the fuser connectors. Can't help but think I've fried a board in the cleaning process but would like some other opinions from you techs.

    Cheers in advance,
    jonezy

There is a microswitch in the back it responds to the leg of the door with the bypass in it. That's usually the problem. Just take the rear cover off and you'll see it.

The machine detects the opening of the lower door on the left side (under the manual tray) as a cover open. There is one sensor for paper jam and cover open. If the lower right door is open, the photointerruptor is free. If you close the right lower inner door, it is blocked, and when it is closed, and there is a paper in this section the sensor is free. Sometimes the edge of lower inner door doesn't makes the sensor moving, insted of crushes up. Then a little amount of grease can help you. See attachment:

Does the front cover switch DORSW1 cable are pluged in to dc controller? Make sure the DORSW1 is press when the front cover are close or else try to change DORSW1 before DC controller.

Cheers for all the replies, this machine must have a ghost in it, either that or I have the ghost of a tech in my workshop because I worked on this machine late last night checking and rechecking everything and still couldn't get rid of this damn message. Came in this morning and all is sweet. Not 100% sure that it is fixed but it is still going strong at the moment.

          Once again thank you all.
          Happy Easter.

              Machine still alive and well.

No ghost tech though, workshop was still a mess after the long weekend.
