[Error Code] Canon D860 E100 error code

ok---the fuser unit on the D860 was badly damaged so I took a good fuser unit out of a D660. Everything looked good so after installing the D660 fuser unit in the D860, I powered up--got a ready status & I pressed the print button. After a few seconds, a code of E100 was displayed. What is my proplem. If anything is different between the 2 fuser units, What are they? thanks john,

As he said, E100 has nothing to do with the fuser. It is possible that you forgot to reconnect a connector or got the control panel ribbon cable in wrong.

I believe the 860/660 relationship is simular to the 1330/1630 - if so, the fuser may not work real well or may eat paper. Although the fusers are 99.9% same, the fuser springs are different and will impact on the roller pressure. Your milage may vary.

next time you replace one of these fuser units. you need a stubby screw driver and a L shaped screw driver the fuser will come out the exit hole area. i have this proceedure down to about 15 minutes. just remove the exit area panels, use stubby to remove front two screws, use L shape to remove rear screw 1/2 turn by 1/2 turn but once its loose you can twist it w/fingers, unplug the three connectors and wiggle it out reverse to put it back in this does work!!!

Thats the way I do it too. Remove, rebuild, and replace in about 1/2 hour. If you have a right angle ratchet, its even easier.
