    [CQ] irADV c5055i

Am new to this model. Have deletions in magenta only from leading to trailing edges along the rear of the copy. Looks like lack of dev on mag roller. Machine said toner was low but not empty. Adjusted setting in service mode to allow toner flap opening and changed magenta toner bottle. Ran a few copies then gave magenta a stir in service mode . After 30 copies fault came back.Does this machine have a part no. For the developer or do you need to change the whole dev assembly? Is there anything else I can do to cure this fault?I would be grateful for any help!

    NO ON DEV. CHANGE

check the D cut portion of the drive gear , it can strip out and not allow drive to the developer. The drive gear is a X shaped gear.

also check the M toner supply clutch

Also, something even simpler, have you cleaned the laser slit glass for that color using the blue wand? Pull the waste toner bottle out of the way and swab all 4 of the slits...

thanks for that guys, am going back to customer on Tuesday morning and will check the x gear and clutch. Thanks for the input mrfixit51, but as fault disappeared for a short while after stirring, i don't see why it would be the slit glass. However i appreciate the reminder about cleaning the laser slit glasses. Also on a run, the deletion got worse.

Firstly, I would like to apologise. the machine was a irCADV 7055i.
Had to replaced the magenta developer assembly due to lack of dev.
New unit had twice as much dev in it than the old unit.
The original unit had a count of 79K. only 14% of life.
Thank you for your help and advice.

They sent out a bulletin with reminders, trying to blame us for premature 7055 dev replacements, assuming that we are not following the instructions to keep the tape on the gears until the foam is removed, and also turning the roller in the wrong direction,
It is easy to take the top cover off (2 screws) and also the blade(2 screws).
Sometimes that gummy mylar guide gets ripped and stuck on the inside of dev, causing blank areas.
