    C3220 blurred image when printing but not copying

    I have a C3220 in the field that is giving a double image when printing a document from the computer, but copy is perfect when making a copy from glass or feeder. It is also leaving some color toner on a b/w image when printing only. This is happening from every computer in the office. Any ideas?

    Print out the P PRINT settings/
    in service mode do a DCON CLEAR/
    power off/on
    re-input DCON settings

    also remove ITB/ REMOVE the metal plates clean underside/

    Just a note ***I throw away the large plate/ it becomes bent & causes smears on image/make sure to ground other side of varistor under metal leaf plate{as shown}

      Thanks for this information. The customer had their page setup defaulting to Color instead of B/W, when they changed that, everything cleared up.

        @Teckat: you mean keep the small plate & varistor only?

        @repeatcopiers: it is advisable that you service the ITB since the image is blurred when printing color documents, it practically means it would also produce blurred "photocopy" results when photocopying color.

          we remove that large plate on all iR5180 series & iR3200 series machines/
          even on the ITB retrofitted ones that Canon came out with on the 5185

          u keep that small plate & varistor connected / just retro fit the other end of varistor under that side metal leaf spring/ see pic above

          anyone who services these machine that have high volume , u will see the scrape marks it produces on prints & toner build up underside of plate.

                Just to add a tip.. If the varistor is not added to the ITB assy, it will cause electrical issues. E-code like E0003-xxxx can pop.
                But the technique works like a charm.
