Does anyone know if there is a user disc for this. I am able to set up to print but when trying to set up to scan using original disc, computer tells me its not compatible. Searched knowledgebase and grid as well as customer site and download center but cant find anything. Its connected via usb

The machine comes with the install disc for print, scan, toolbox, and online manuals. I believe it uses OCR. There is no network adapter in the machine. It's connected by USB. Customer was all set up on XP and when they upgraded to 7 the original disc is incompatible.

I am often wrong, but as I recall, Canon has not (and does not plan to) produced a Windows 7 version of Toolbox (as in uses USB).

I know you said it did not have a network adapter, but that is what the N part of iR1023N stands for. As I think I understand it:

1023 = no DADF, no network
1023N = adds DADF and network printing.
1023iF = As above plus fax and universal send.
