iR c5185i print function missing or disabled?

This machine throws no error codes and will pass paper but nothing prints, pages just come out blank. Mechanicaly everything looks/checks out fine. Checked to verify all boards were present and seated correctly, I found that someone had pinched the fm2-6810 control board so I borrowed one from another machine but still no printer, clearly I am missing something somewhere but I'll be darned if I know what it is...any help would be great thanks in advance for your time....

Hi screwtape thanks for responding, it's not on a network so no drivers yet...I believe the installed firmware is 92.06....I'm still really new to these machines but I'm finally getting comfortable with service mode levels 1 & 2...

It's acting like there is an open I/F PCB for the H1 installed...interface is set to 0

the slot will hold either the IF PCB for Fiery or Multi-PDL KIT Pcb.

did u check the slot in back ???

if copies and prints & test prints are BLANK with no error codes
Try re-flashing the machine , if it doesn't resolve the issue, suspect a faulty DC Controller

              imageRUNNER C5185 / C5180 / C4580 / C4080 / C5185i / C5180i / C4580i / C4080i Blank

              Solution :
All prints from the machine come out BLANK.
Go in to service mode in level 2 under COPIER > DISPLAY > DPOT check that 1TR-DC-Y/M/C/K are all at 0 which means that there is no Primary Transfer on all 4 colors. All the other keys such as CHG (Primary Charge) and 2TR (Secondary Transfer) show voltages. This would point to a HVT problem. Before suspecting an expensive board, check the transfer lever in the front of the machine. If the ITB is not fully engaged, this can occur. See the picture below:

                  1. the slot is occupied by a Multi-PDL KIT Pcb
                  2. COPIER > DISPLAY > DPOT all voltages are zero
                  3. Transfer handle is intact and transfer assembly appears to be fully engaged

I had a little time this afternoon as well as quite a few donor machines so I went ahead and swapped out all the controller boards then re-flashed there was no change...

If you look at the right side where the bypass is at . There is a panel with a yellow caution sticker. It has one screw. Remove it. You should be able to see the belt. Check if images are being transfer to the belt from the drums. Make PG10 test prints from service mode. As the image formation process occurs look the ITB belt. Could be the HVT. How does the error history look like. Are there any Error codes from the past?

Hey screwtape...unfortunately this is a lease return and in addition to pinching a few parts some one cleared the history...nothing transfers to the belt...not even the registration when it is first started...

U could have a bad or damaged/disfunctional SRAM PCB

                        **
If you pull out the SRAM PCB from machine B and mount it to machine A,the PCB will be initialized and be rendered useless for machine A or B. Take full care.

someone may have done this without knowing/ funny thing is it will not pop an ERROR code-
a bad SRAM PCB board can cause Blank copy issue

                        Stupid question ??

                        Are the DRUMS TURNING ????

COPIER > DISPLAY > DPOT check that 1TR-DC-Y/M/C/K are =
all at "0" which means that there is no Primary Transfer on all 4 colors.

This is Probably an HVT 2 issue/
Why there is no error code that pertains to the ITB not displaying the patches on power up is a mystery-

You know, I have no idea if the drums are turning... I'll have to check them out in the morning...I wonder if maybe someone dug into this machine to swipe something in addition to the one I saw...

I'm about 5 miles from them...if someone grabbed something from the hvt circuit wouldn't it throw an error?
