I'm working on a NP6035 that produces smudges and faint echoes. I have replaced the drum unit and transfer roller, and cleaned the paper transport path and fixing assembly. I cheated the main door switch and can see where the issue is being generated, at the developer and drum. Could this be a toner problem?

if those smudges don't move or change in size on continuous copies>>>

Initialize the Idle Rotation Mode using the *4* function in the Service Mode by selecting BK-ROT and pressing the OK Key. The display will change from 0 to 1 for the Idle Rotation This will last about six (6) minutes.
Increase PRIMARY in Service Mode *3* to + 3 more than the value given on the Drum Label. Next, adjust the BIAS to normalize the image. Initialize the Idle Rotation Mode
(BK-ROT) again.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

This must be a toner fault.
I have seen similar images when the consumer used sharp toner into Canon.
On the other hand any type of toner could also be wrong after staying long time in a magnetic field (for example near a big speaker)
If I were you, I would hoover the hopper assy and the developer assy, then fill up with the new reliable toner.
Don't forget initialize the new toner as Teckat mentioned above.Comment
