    canon 3380 e000747-3906 code

Could someone tell me what this code is, and if I need to take parts? I don't have a manual for this model. Thanks!

That's a C3380 if it makes any difference.

Main controller PCB error (Image processing ASIC or memory control/communication control ASIC)

Disconnect and connect the main controller PCB or replace it.

        before u replace any boards
Look at this PDF/ u may need to remove and re-seat all sub-pcb's
        TP07.pdf

When poor/dirty or miss-aligned contact develops between one of the Sub PCBs and the Main Controller PCB , various kinds of error codes below or malfunction to the machine may occur.
        E747/E748/E240/E241/E350/E351/E732/E733/

this is the first step in troubleshooting on all PCB's before replacing them

          Here's another possibility,

          Error :
Error code E747-3906 only after trying to print from Microsoft Excel and/or printing from a Mac.

          Workaround :
One of the two PDRM- EF-A PCB's is bad. Replace board. The part number is FM2-9166-000.

I fixed the problem just by cleaning the edge connections on the sub boards. Did not have to replace any parts. And now it's been a couple weeks and they haven't called back. Thanks so much for all the help.
