Canon iR5055 will not print, posted by masterofpatience

masterofpatience Canon iR5055 will not print
So, I have this iR5055 that needed to have the main control board replaced due to a bad RJ-45 connector got the board replaced with all the old components transferred over and everything works well except for printing. We can scan without issue and the machine copies beautifully but when the print job is sent to the machine, it locks up.
I have been to Hytec and they say the issue is with the License number for the UFR II print kit which I do not have access to as the machine came from a wholesaler without documentation. I know that most canons have a specific queue name for the printers but I have been unable to find it in the Network data configuration report.

Anyone able to help with this? Either retrieving the old license number from the old board or a queue name for the new board? OR ANY OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE

The way I would approach it, is to uninstall license, under 2nd level of Options in service mode, and contact Canon with that license transfer number, and the serial number of the copier. They will be able to re-issue a valid license with that information...

I looked for the license number under Service mode 2 and couldn't find it . unless I just didn't know what I was looking at.

The LMS key should stay with the machine and not the main controller. It is saved into the couter and SN boards so when you do have to replace a board the machine doesn't lose this information. If you go into service mode level 2 and go to copier>option>LCNS-TR. Look for one that should be at a value of a '1'
You can also scroll down through all of the available pages on this Device Configuration screen. Look for either PS, PCL or UFRII. The methods listed here (ex. PS, PCL, or UFRII) are installed and are available for printing.

If nothing is at a '1' then you do not have any options installed. Also do not transfer anything without contacting tech support first as they might not help you without the original license key.

There is a way to uninstall the key in level 3, but without the proper number it will not do you any good since you cannot reinstall it.

Okay, well that might explain a lot then. All of my LCNS-TR data is at "0". Time to try and call Canon and hope for the best
Thanks to all for your help and suggestions

              Ditto!!

Depending on their mood, they can be very helpful, or make you jump through hoops. They can look at license info keyed by mainframe serial number and see what licenses are valid...
