    [Error Code] Canon IRC3380i problem

    Dear All,

I have a problem with canon IRC3380i which is when I on the copier, error code E000990-000 appeared. Then I check drum (look ok) and waste toner (look fine). Anyone please help me how to deal with this machine...

    Thanks

E990 0000 When the locking Handle for the Process Assembly is turned to the locked position it re-positions a rack that opens the Waste Toner Shutters. When the rack is in the correct position there is a cutout in the rack that unblocks PS12, if the sensor remains blocked an E990 0000 will be generated.

Remove the Hopper Drive Assembly and the Hopper Assembly .
With those items removed you will see a white nylon gear plate with 2 locking screws. Loosen the locking screws and position the gear plate so that when the handle is in the locked position, the cutout in the rack unblocks PS 12. (See photo below)

When the process unit black locking lever is locked or released, it in turn opens/closes a waste toner shutter mechanism, if this does not occur properly an E990 error code may occur.

      Solution :
Check the Cam Lead mechanism (on inside process frame) for any broken gears or a broken cam lead itself, item #24 FC6-9403-000. (See attached image for parts location).

Hi, I know I am replying to an old thread however I have this exact problem, E000990-0000 however when I try to open the links in previous posts none of them work, does anyone have a working PDF of where the parts are located?

I have attached a photo of a broken gear that fell out of the machine but I have no idea where it came from. Anything anyone can help with would be great.

Thanks so much for this information, glad to know that the gear is not particularly important for the functionality of the machine. The gear has actually broken off form whatever it was connected to. Is there a part number that you may know to actually replace this part with. I will try to get the real problem solved later today I did take a brief look but its not so easy to get all those wires out of the way and disconnected, is there an "easier" way then actually removing all those purple wires running below the toner cartridges.

                              Thanks Again!
