I know its old. Customer said they had a brown out. Charge and developing is good. Image on the drum but no transfer. If I pull the sep cable in rear I get traces of print due to paper riding up drum. Replaced HVT's, transfer/sep corona and dc controller. Cable for transfer has continuity but I'm wondering if maybe theres a short internally. It is a fully enclosed piece. No purple glow on transfer but there is on sep. On top of that I cant find the cable unit, which mounts on the rear of the machine, in the parts book. Anybody got any ideas?

I've changed one of these cables once, and it was no fun at all! Plus I had to scavenge it out of a graveyard machine, and it didn't fix the problem.
So you're getting a completely charged, exposed, and developed latent image, but you're loosing it at the transfer? Is the transfer unit new, or just something out of the scrapyard? This was a common part to short out, and you could have installed another bad one. The HVT is much less likely. Does the bed unit lift properly when you turn the handle? I've seen those mechanisms bent up, and with loose screws. Have you tried removing the pre-transfer charger? Any shorted charge unit can cause you to lose transfer charge.
The likelyhood of this cable being your problem is very slim in my estimation.
My compliments on a very thorough examination of the machine. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Not a new transfer but I took it from a another customers machine 1/2 hour before. The cable is easy. Its the one behind the hvt that mounts to the frame with 2 screws and has the second cable that goes to the sep hvt. Bed lifts fine. I removed pre trans and even disconnected cable at hvt. I've had hvts go in the past but not too often. Thanks for your compliments now I need a drink. To Anderson.. Developer is fine. Copy is fully developed on drum but not transferring.Comment

I saw that but I don't know that it applies here. That says 1/2 page blank then registration displacement. I did already see that and thanks for the bulletin. I found a post on the knowledgebase about the bias connector and found the part number for the t/s cable. I don't think its bias though because I have a well developed image on the drum but it should be a cheap part so I'll get it anyway with the hvt cable going to transfer corona.Comment

Transfer bias connector or Arching to Frame/or Short to Frame ground or Pinched/unconnected cable
