    Canon ImagePress C1

    hi peeps,

not sure how many of u have worked on canons new flagship graphics machine..... we have about 25 out there now and i have seen this problem on 2 different machines now.

basically theres alot of backround on prints/copies that especially shows up on the non image part of the print. machine has only done 3.5k. the backround is 4 colour. recently upgraded machine to latest firmware but made no difference.

any 1 else had this issue? if so did u solve it and ofc what did u do? strange thing is this problem has only had happened on 2 machines in our showroom. we DOA'd the 1st one but the problem has come back on a brand new 2nd machine...hmmmm!

any help would be greatly appreciated.
    chow for now

    High Voltage/Developer Bias

I can't say that I'm familiar with that particular Canon, But I can toss out some directions to start:

Back in the day when we were still tweaking VR's to adjust primary charge and bias, it was necessary after a PM to adjust primary charge and developer bias. It's a balance to get the best possible image. If both the developer bias and primary charge were cranked up too high the image area looked fine, but the voids would get heavy background. I would start out looking at HVT settings. I'm sure they're all set through simulation now. At this point feel free to stray significantly from the doorspecs to see if you can improve the image.

Especially on a new platform, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if a firmware upgrade showed up with modified doorspecs.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
