Ok, maybe my region's product works different from you guys. Our's C boot rom allows printing but only with UFR driver, & it colour quality really makes us cry. Customer can said his $200 colour printer can produce better colour than iRC32xx that cost him a few thousand.

Just went over the Service Guide for the 3200 and 3220, and neither mention being able to print without the print kit or the imagepass...

You are correct. The 3200/3220 series could not print without the PDL kit. The UFR driver was not produced for color quality so that is why your customer does not like it compared to there desktop inkjet printer

You're spot on about Customers' frustration but our Sales' mentality is "something printed out is very well". Tech like us have minimum "bargaining power", we suppose to work out magic for them. Anyway, this product is more than 5 years ago, it colour was one of the best in term of corporate color printing.

ok, back to topic at hand, if it N bootrom and surf card has replaced fiery video card:

Try from remote web of copier (not Fiery), do direct print a PDF / jpeg file

I tried the UFR drivers and I was able to print from a PC. However, I couldn't get it to work on a Mac because I couldn't find the UFR for Mac.

That's because there are no UFR drivers for Mac for this machine.

UFRII drivers are for Mac, but the 3200 doesn't support UFRII.

The 3200 will need PostScript to print from your Macs, that is unless you're adventurous enough to try Gutenprint drivers - in that case all bets are off and you're pretty much on your own.

                  aladdinhussein,

Good news that you got it to print with UFR drivers, albeit only from PC

If you really need it to print from Mac, your only options are :

Get N bootrom / install PS drivers for Macs
                  OR
Hook back the imagePASS / install Fiery print drivers for Macs

ok. Let's go back to square one because nothing has worked for Mac printing. Can i put back the imagepass and still keep universal send. This means I have to take out the surf board? Besides putting imgcnt back to 3 (for imagepass) do I need anything else. So I end up with res. board and imagepass because imagepass worked for mac.

I didn't notice your reply up there. So I hooked the imagepass back but the copier can't see it. Still can see "send" for scan to email which is good and I can scan to email. But I can't get the imagepass back online?? what are we missing...

                        i assume that
video cable are plug on from imagepass > copier's video board
crossover cable from imagepass > copier's NIC card
                        imgcnt set as 3
                        reboot copier

You should be able to see "Printer" , after wait for more than 5 min and still can't access the buttons within this screen then there is high chance either the imagepass' HDD system OS or the physical HDD is goner. You will need to reload system.

They are connected. So even though I can see the imagepass on the network (add from appletalk) there is a chance os is corrupted? I just had it unplugged for 2 days - or did loading the universal send software wipe out imagepass on the copier?

Loading Universal send will not wipeout imagepass OS but just remember that you follow shutdown steps within "Printer" option. Have seen it corrupted after too many ON/OFF machine improperly.

Were you able to print configuration page of the imagepass during the time you add imagepass from appletalk?

No I didn't print it. If I need to reload what do I have to do ? Do i have to buy the software or I can download

Ok, that means you can't printout the configuration page from copier's LCD screen. Best that you get a Canon Authorised Tech to look at your problem.
