there is no way, that file is encrypted-some color iR models are also encrypted
u need to probably purchase the same model u remove from printer
iR3170 HDD-HITACHI HDS728080PLAT20 / NEW on Amazon 65.00/ u can find refurbs for about 30/35.00-
Canon OEM will charge u much more /
now that I think of it the 3100 also uses an 80gb HD-just checked the 3100 listed a WESTERN DIGITAL 80gb/WD800BB-22JHC0
Can't figure why the 3100 .itf is not encrypted
see for yourself below this is the 3170 ,itf file below**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
