    [Error Code] IR 3300 having Error Code E000246-0005

    Hi all,

    I am getting an error code E000246-0005 on an IR 3300 canon machine. Please guide me what to do. I want to solve it myself.

          or there are two counter pcbs and need to be interchanged?

                  I've come across a battery leak into the printer, try changing montalay montalay may be missing.

                          You can't do any modifications to the counter pcb. It's illegal.

                              What these gentlemen are tap-dancing around is the fact that someone has probably swapped the counter PCB in the hopes of displaying a lower total count. The problem is, that the machines serial number is stored there and compared to the serial number stored on other PCBs. If the serial number does not match you get the E000246-0005. Only the manufacturer can program the counter PCBs, and does not take it kindly when individuals attempt to tamper with the total counts. You will not get much cooperation from the manufacturer.

                              The only way you can restore functionality of the machine is to re-install the matching original counter PCB. If it cannot be found, you might as well use the chassis for parts. It will never be a copier again.

                              In the future you may re-consider tampering with the counter PCB. =^..^=
                              If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                                  power surge made soemthing to the counter pcbs, not sure what happened. And dont understand why counter board is much important and how it is connected to law.

                                      It is illegal to tamper with this circuit in an attempt to falsify the counter readings of any Canon Copier.
