Hi, Don't get offended, but did the IT use the 28 button to put the copier to safe mode and format & reload? Since both of you guys has isolate copier with network sniffer of SMTP port, copier in question might be the main issue. might want to consider getting new HDD to try out too

not yet, the IT set up a folder on customers computer to forward SMB scanning until it gets resolved.

Most likely he wont get back to me until Monday in response to Teckat post so I will be waiting for his response.

I do appreciate all the help and cant tell you how much I thank you guys

          http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ky...il-server.html

          try gmx

you already changed the main controller, KL568 suggests hard drive.
can't see anyother hardware affecting this, unless you hit the jackpot with 2 main controllers having the same weird problem.

          What is the error code?

              Problem :
The email send function fails even though the Email Settings on the copier are correctly configured according to the Network Administrator. The correct Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) for their email server has been typed in for the SMTP Server setting. The Administrator can Ping this email server by its FQDN and by its IP address from any of his computers.

              Solution :
The problem here is most likely that the imageRUNNER cannot resolve the email server's FQDN into its valid IP address. The computers on the network can Ping the email server by its FQDN because they can resolve the FQDN to the server's IP address. The computers are either configured to use a DNS server or may have a mapping for the email server configured in their local HOSTS file. The copier does not have a HOSTS file to edit on it. The copier will need to be configured with the IP address of the network's DNS server. If a DNS server is not available, the SMTP Server setting on the copier can be set as the IP address of the email server instead of its FQDN. This will eliminate the need to resolve the name (as the IP address will be known by the copier).
Also make sure that the domain name for the domain the SMTP server serves is set in the DNS settings under Domain Name. If the Domain Name is incorrect, the most common error code in the Send job log will be #752. The domain name must match your customer's email FQDN. For example, if your customer receives email at 'jsmith@xyzcorp.com' the FQDN is 'xyzcorp.com'. If the imageRUNNER is connected to an external Feiry controller the Domain Name must be set on the external controller.

With some email servers if the Subject field for document being sent via e-mail is left blank, the transmission of the e-mail may fail. Populate the Subject field by accessing the System Settings > Communications Settings > E-mail / I-Fax Settings

Note:Currently, some of the Canon Universal Sendsend mail. The Network Administrator will need to change the settings on his SMTP Server to work around this issue (ex. Grant the RELAY privilege to the individual IP address of the copier).

                    Hi,

I suddenly remember 1 particular incident that a copier I was handling, totally cant send emails but send folder works fine.

Check whether following might be have been turn ON by accident but without any settings in it:

Additional Functions > System Settings > Restrict the Send Function > E-mail/I-Fax Domain Sending Restriction.

                      hi

I have exactly the same issue with a IRC6870

I can ping the offsite pop/smtp host but cannot get the scan to email to function, continual #801 auth issues
have tried moving the outgoing smtp to 587, have tried putting ip address in the smtp fileds rather then ip

do i need to get isp to configure relay with no auth for my ip address??

have read and reread this thread, about to setup a test smtp on laptop to see if anything coming out of copier....

                      Peter

it is not the remote host , i have run smtp diagnostics, the remote end needs authentication, i enter and it works port 25

so its the scanner - reset it back to port 25

entered smtp addres exactly as pc test suite
entered same email address and password for authentication

no go do these copiers not authenticate?

is there some special secret squirrel sw setting to enable scan to email on a canon

i can ping ip address off site, i can print, also if i try to scan to pdf I only get jpeg in the mailbox what is with that???

I have to say that these canons are a job for life, no one who isnt a canon guild member has a chance.....

After a power outage an iR8070 lost its ability to send out via email. After checking all references to this post we checked the SMTPTX setting in Service Mode 2. It had jumped from port 25 to port 26. Reset it to port 25 and problem solved. Thanks to all who contributed to this thread for the help in fixing our issue.
