I have a customer with a ir4570 with print/nic/scan/universal send/fax
This customer uses the fax forward to email, out of the blue, the scanning SMTP stopped working. The machine network prints fine,it can scan to SMB fine but when you scan SMTP she gives an error report and keeps resending.
I sent my Canon authorized IT guy there and he spend hours there and he flashed the machine, tried mmi clear, reloaded software and finally tells me it must be the main controller board. I put another control board in (used) but good and I have the same issue.
My IT guy has software on his laptop than he can monitor incoming and outgoing email with the machine and he says the machine acts with no response.
Canon feels it is hardware and other people feel it is their internet provider. They are using cables visions optonline for their email server. My IT and their IT went through the router and came up empty.
We also tried to ping yahoo.com from the copier and got a positive response.
Since I changed the main board, I believe I replaced anything that possible can be a culprit in the hardware end.
Right now the customer is scanning their faxes to a folder and then emailing but they want this thing fixed, can anyone give me any ideas for my problem here?
