[Error Code] Canon Fax Guru needed

    Problem:
At one of our Customers, there is a Canon IRC1021 with Fax Option installed which works very well except of one Connection from Canada. TX is ok, RX times out with a ##106 Error shown which points to an Echo Problem.

Things, i have done so far:

Update the Firmware to the latest and greatest
Country Settings to "Other" , to open the Tolerance Window as far as possible
    Reduced Modem Speed to 14400
#1 SSSW-SW03 Bit 7 set to "1" , this will send a 1080 HZ Tone before sending CED to activate the echo supression
#1 SSSW-SW04 Bit 3 and 4 to "1" to enlarge the Time Window after CFR

    Still no Joy

Now i'm sitting here, scratching my head and running out of Ideas

Somewhere out there, who can enlighten me?

    Re: Canon Fax Guru needed

It sounds to me like a line problem at the other end. The best you can hope for is cooperation by the transmitter to work with their telephone provider. A simple test would be to insert the AT&T prefix 10288 before the dialed number to confirm that it's the long distance provider.

IMHO you've done everything possible from the receivers end. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Does this work in Canada as well?

Oh. I never thought of that.
Can any of you Canadians answer that?

Turn off the Error Correction Mode and see if that helps. ECM can slow down bad connections.
