I have a customer with a Canon Image Runner C2550 and I had to replace the drum. Now they are getting very light copies. Is there a procedure to calibrate? Or does anyone have the Service Manual. Thanks in advance!

Re: Canon Image Runner C2550
Is it a genuine canon drum.
When you changed it did you clean the electrical contacts in the process assembly that touch the drum, these can get quite dirty. There's also a copper tab (connection) is this touching the drum shaft.
Do an auto graduation - additional functions - adjustment cleaning - auto graduation adjustment (Full adjust) -
Re: Canon Image Runner C2550
Thank you for your response. Yes, everything you mentioned has been checked. The problem is that the copiers toner reference has been lost. When we replaced the black drum unit for the second time with a genuine OEM unit the prints are nice and dark until the toner in the drum is used. The copier doesn't add any toner. Is there a developer calibration procedure that needs to be performed in simulation like other makes. We specialize in Minolta, Ricoh, and Toshiba. I'm a bit rusty on the Canons.Comment

Re: Canon Image Runner C2550

how can u replace a drum & not know how to calibrate the printer ?????
First- make sure your ITB is locked down/ front & rear side
BASIC CALIBRATION
On Control Panel In Additional Settings/Functions go to
Adjustment / Cleaning and select Auto Gradation Adjustment.
Select Plain
Then select Full Adjust.
Follow the screen step by step until the process is complete.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment
