Re: Canon iR C3220 misalignment.
Some of the older pick-up units have this lifter issue/ there was a re-build pub on the issue, but it's time consuming - Try below , if fails - get some new pick-up units
1) Check the cassette paper sensor PS7 (upper cassette) or PS19 (lower cassette) in I/O mode.
If ok...check the feed motor M6 or M7.
2) To test the feed motor (M6 upper cassette) or (M7 lower cassette): Pull out cassette and manually actuate the paper size detecting switch by hand...this will cause cassette pickup motor to rotate. If no rotation or the motor stops rotating after repeated actuation...try switching motors. *If the motor stops rotating...it may be necessary to cycle power in order for the motor to start working again.
Switching motors can be done by physically moving the motors or by swapping the four pin connector at the motor (this is easier than swapping the motors). If the connectors are swapped ...keep in mind that the upper cassette size detecting switch will actuate the lower motor M7 and lower cassette size detecting switch will operate the upper motor M6. Based on the results... you will determine if the motor, wiring from motor to dc controller, or the dc controller is bad.
*If the wiring is switched at the motor, remember to switch it back to the original motor when finished.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

u dismantled the DRUM UNIT ??????
When rotating the photosensitive drum,be sure to do so in the direction of the arrow. Otherwise, the orientation
of the auxiliary brush will change, preventing
correct development.
That looks like the Auxiliary fur brush (upstream, downstream)
1. removes charges from the photosensitive drum; charges residual toner
2. controls the polarity of residual toner
• thereby preventing adhesion of toner to the primary charging
roller
• thereby eliminating the need for a cleaning mechanism for the photosensitive drum
Upstream auxiliary brush • removes charges from the photosensitive drum.
(in preparation for the next image formation session, the latent static image from the previous session is removed)
• charges the residual toner to a positive potential.
(to increase the effects of charging by the downstream brush as part of the upcoming operation)
Downstream auxiliary • charges the photosensitive drum to a negative potential.
brush • charges the residual toner to a negative potential.
(to facilitate collection by the developing assembly)
Controlling the Auxiliary Bias
AC Component: level of output suited to the reading of the environment sensor.(upstream auxiliary brush)
DC Component: level of output suited to the reading of the environment sensor. (upstream/downstream auxiliary brush)

Re: Canon iR C3220 misalignment.
change your CLEANING BLADE ASSEMBLY
U also need to remove all the assembly's to view inside & clean the machine
the under side LARGE metal plate on ITB= throw it in the GARBAGE,
set up your ITB small plate as shown in pictureAttached Files**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon iR C3220 misalignment.
Originally posted by Canon.TechI have been replacing just the drum cylinders with out any issues, however if if the developer was available I wouldn't want to go that far.
Once the units get over 300-350% they are worn out & need to be replaced with a new drum unit."Once a King, always a King, but once a Knight is enough!"

Waste of Time and Energy, and the possibility of another issue,
do not reflect cost savings in the long run.
u are also using a non-OEM Drum**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

u increase service contracts or cost per hr. to service no-contract customers to offset part costs.
In USA, wasted time is money lost, never to be recovered.

Re: Canon iR C3220 misalignment.
I need help here too,,
ir002.jpgir003.jpg
It started to print a wierd wavy pattern after I replaced toner cartridges.
All 4 toners print similar pattern - straight line, blank line and then wavy pattern.
It seems there's a problem with laser unit or controller..
I had this problem time to time but it's now constant.
Please let me know which part I should take a look at.
I'm not a technician. Thanks in advance for your reply!Comment
