[Misc] Canon Advance Image Runner C5051 no paper lift

Three out of four drawers do not lift the paper. Can hear the motor trying but plate does not lift. Do I need to replace lift ass'y or can it be repaired. No experience on this machine but have a potential customer that I would like to get. Work primarily on Rioch/Savin. Any help appreciated. thanks in advance.

could be Paper feed driver pcb. FM3-7932-000 - this is for the upper cassettes only though I think.

Drawer two works and the others don't. No paper behind drawers. When drawer is closed you can hear lift motor turning but no movement at all of lift plate. It doesn't throw a service code, just says to add paper. I'm not sure how involved I want to get. As I said, I have not seen this model before. Have worked on many machines over the years that I never saw before, mostly with success, but this is a 50cpm color machine and as you stated training would certainly help. It could turn out to be a good account but don't want to make a small problem bigger. Do these lift units typically have issues? Apparently they failed over time, one at a time.

you probably need to pull the cassette feed units and make sure that you do not have a solenoid that is stuck or a sensor arm out of place.

Thank you for the input. I just purchased the manuals(now I'll really be dangerous!). Will read up on removing feed units and check them out. I will let you if I am successful(or not).

that C5051/C5045/C5035/C5030 Series 1,135page Manual is just a starting point & not the only Manual u will need for this ADVANCE Series.

this product is difficult to learn from just manuals

Just a follow up on the problem I posted. I pulled the feed units and they were loaded up with toner on the solenoids and photointerupters. Looks like it was leaking from the dv unit. Thanks for all the help.
