Canon iR4570 A3 Paper buckle/wavy on last 2-3" of trail edge

Stripped and rebuilt fuser new film fitted.. all the usual stuff, right amount of grease etc etc... tried FX-FL-SP adjustment to +3... and still i have the same problem. would it be unusual to replace the fuser unit to cure the fault?
Kind regards for any info on this one thanks.
    Steve.

How about replacing the pressure roller? The film would not induce curl, but the pressure roller would be a more likely candidate...

A few years back we refurnished 100s of 35/4570s pressure roller, fixing film bushings and bearings were replaced and at the end of the day about 30% of the machines would curl A3 just as mentioned earlier.

Is there any solution apart from better paper, 100gsm for example, you could put that through the machine twice.

this usually occurs when the pressure roller and/or bushings are worn out.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

Replace the M3 Fixing motor first > cheaper

Had this problem yesterday. This fixed it for me.
Jamming * Paper Feed * A3 Size Paper is Wavy on the Last Two Inches of the Copy : iR4570 Series / iR3045 Series

            Symptom
A3 size paper is wavy on the last two inches of the copy. This will occur if the A3 paper is fed from the cassette or bypass. In this particular case, the fuser was swapped out and the delivery rollers were replaced. The fuser temperature was lowered in service mode to no avail.

            Action
This issue was resolved by changing the value of FX-FL-SP in service mode to +3. To change the value of FX-FL-SP in service mode, perform the following.

            Service Mode > Copier > Adj > FX-FL-SP

            Note:
The definition for FX-FL-SP is as follows:

Use it to enter a fine adjustment value for the fixing film speed when plain paper is used. Make a fine adjustment of the target control speed for the fixing film speed when plain paper is used.
Setting range: -3 to 3 (Default: 0) (Unit: ms)

            - If RAM on the DC Controller circuit board has been cleared or the board itself has been replaced, enter the value from the service label.

Sorry, got carried away and didn't read the whole post. Sometimes the little rubber buffers on the movable gates get sticky and can cause this. Does it do it on duplex as well? Does it do it all the time or only the first couple of copies?

Thanks for that, although it is more a wave than a curl... take 3 inches of paper and put about 5 waves in it and your there!

I'm going to assume you mean service mode 2, if so i have tried that and it really made no difference. Thanks So far the only thing i havent tried is a new pressure roller...
many thanks for your Technical info..

Many Thanks might just do that as it is not something i have done yet... usually stripping down the Fuser, cleaning up bearings/bushes & fitting a new film. I may try fitting a new pressure roller first as it is even cheaper than the M3. lol
                    cheers...

As a side note we also clean or replace the delivery roller assy. first as this cures the problem a lot of the time as well.
