black color to strong, can feel the print on the paper , all other colors are fine. unit has a new drum still the same thing. did I miss a adjustment?

Auto Gradation Adjust?

Did you have this problem before replacing the drum? If so then you must swap primary transfer rollers or laser unit...

go to service mode> copier> adjust> density there u see the four color adjust pannel. highlight black color and reduce the value. if needed reduce the value with negative value.

you really shouldn't have to adjust these settings and usually the techs that do make adjustments here are covering up the real problem.

By the sounds of it you are losing strarter from your drum units. Are these rebuilt drums or OEM? and what kind of toner is being ran through the machine.

You could also have a BIAS issue.

Went to Adjust , Dens, All I see is P-ALPHA ?

I am using Oem Parts ,Had the issue before changing the drum unit , all other color are fine just the black I am having the issue. I have scan a copier of a printed page copy_20110825140656.pdf

do you have the same problem with copies?
if the problem is with printing only, the file is printing process black (made of 3 layers of toner).
so you need to tell your driver to use black toner only for black prints.
