First of all let me say thank-you to all the people here and the great information that you provide joe-techguys like me!
My name is David and I work as a tech for a local company here in Iowa. Recently our Canon IR4080i (less than 200,000 copies) spit out the old e000007-0001 error. After taking a look at the fuser assembly, I can see that at least one of the red roller bars inside is coming apart. I have checked all the gears and they seem to be in great shape. What would be the appropriate course of action here? Does anyone know of someone that refurbishes these units if I shipped it to them? Can I just replace the upper and lower rollers and go about my day or is there an underlying problem I need to address that caused this in the first place? Also, is it a nasty job to replace these rollers? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!
