urgent help needed with folding problem on Booklet Finisher A1 on IRAC9000

A customer of mine is using his machine to print a single sided A3 sheet and then fold it in half (half fold) to effectrively make a single page booklet, he wants to run 3000 of these exiting and stacking them in one of the finisher trays however whatever he does the machine will not let him do this telling him that it is not possible (cannot remember the exact phrasing, sorry) even trying to run a single sheet through the ADF the job will not print. you can however make prints using a half fold on A4 landscape to make an A5 leaflet and output into finisher tray. I have tried the job on another machine with identical configuration (but older firmware) and got the same result.

Something is now telling me that I simply cannot run this type of job on this machine. please can someone tell me what I possibly need to do or configure to get the machine to simply half fold an A3 sheet of paper.

so u can perform the same exact job on the other same printer model with older firmware ?

simple solution= revert printer to that firmware ver.

No the option is not greyed out, at first glance it almost looks as if A3 half folding is not supported, I will have to come back to you with the exact message, it's not an error/service message, I will speak to my customer tomorrow.

The machine with the older firmware would not half fold either???

If this is indeed a firmware issue, this is one almighty oversight by Canon, do you know of others who are having the same problems and do you know if canon are aware of this problem?
