check the Potential Control harness and its associated connectors for kinks,wire ties,bent pins and proper routing.


REPLACE Potential controller ?
High Voltage Transformer PCB Assembly ??
High Voltage Cable ??

get a trained Canon tech to look into the issue

Yeah if its so bad potential cont was turned off then there is a serious problem and the first thing I would look at is age of Corona wire/ dirty drum ..needs polished? Then if image still is bad then pot cont sensor and that you would need a tech with tools but dont let me stop you from trying . Good luck!

I got the similar problem, when I chek the machine the housing of the pre-transfer and transfer/separation was broken so the housing not fixed in the body or free. Must to be replace cable HV unit especially for transfer/separation.
