    Ir-8500 light band

On left side of copies (crossfeed - front to back of machine) there is an intermittent (1 in10 or so) washed out band. Looks like poor transfer.

I've replaced: All 3 corona assm's, both HVT's, trans-sep hvt block (mounted on rear frame) and horizontal feed assm. Also reseated dev assm connectors - all during multiple visits. Every time the problem seems to go away then cust calls back in a day or so.

    Any other ideas?

Check in service mode and ensure the COPIER>OPTION>BODY>DEV SLOW is either a 0 or 1. A setting of 2 is too slow at start up of the developer roller.

maybe some of the actual connectors need to bee replaced

HVT Connectors sometimes look good on the outside/but when printer is running u see the effect of erratic CQ issues- drove me crazy on some of those NP & CLC Series/ for transfer & separation

Yes - lead edge light band - about 1/2 to 1 inch wide. Intermittant (1 in anywhere from 10-25 copies, sometimes less).

I've already replaced the trans/sep hvt rear frame connector and both hvt's.

Any other connectors or settings I should look at in particular?

I'll check the DEV SLOW setting when I go back out there today. Thanks.

Of course when I got out to the machine today it wasn't doing it!

I set DEV_SLOW to "1" (Standard speed) - it was at "0" (default - change to suit environment). I'll just have to wait and see if they call back.

            Thanks.

zoraldinho - That was one of the first things I checked. Thanks anyway.

possible bad ream of paper? If it had moisture build up from being open or sitting in a drawer for a long period of time you can intermittent CQ issues like that.

Teckat - Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It wasn't the dev speed setting that took of it though. It ended up being the dev mag clutches. 4.5 mil on machine and they were prob the original clutches.
