    Dodgy drums - possible?

I've recently found I'm having a lot of problems with new drums in my 3200. Running heavy stock, I rarely find I get more than 80% out of a drum, but I've found quite a few I've put in have been toning badly at 40% or less. I've also just put in brand new mag & yellow and both a giving me toning!

So do some come off the line with problems? What's the usual scenario with this and is there anything I could try or anything that could be contributing to the problem?

this issue seems to happen more when it is cold.
also when they run a lot of heavy solids.
some months ago i did wonder the same as you, about bad batches

this is not a printing press

Turn off PASCAL in service mode. Run CCD AUTO ADJ. Turn PASCAL back on. Exit service mode and complete a FULL Auto-gradation.
Perform a Full Auto Gradation in HEAVY mode

Do an auto gradation using heavy 1/heavy2 mode and using card stock for the adjustment. Access auto gradation by selecting the additional functions (*) key on the control panel. Select the Adjustment/Cleaning button on the screen, then select the auto gradation button. Next select Heavy1/Heavy2 button followed by Full Adjustment and follow the instructional prompts. If the customer is changing back to regular paper they should follow the same procedure but select plain paper.
try setting service mode level 2, Copier/Option/Body/CLR-SHFT to 1. Keep in mind this will reduce heavy paper productivity by approximately 1/3.
